REAP was
awarded the international
2005 Opus Prize for outstanding humanitarian work on 7 th November, 2005, at Marquette University , United States . Marquette University , also conferred on the Director an
Honorary Doctorate for his contribution to the cause of education for the marginalized. The Opus prize is a
$ 1 million humanitarian award for excellence in social entrepreneurship. “The winner demonstrates innovative strategies in solving deeply rooted problems, poverty, hunger, illiteracy or disease”.
Press Council of India , Maharasthra Chapter, selected 5 eminent persons from the entire State for their outstanding contributions. At the Annual Day of the Council held on 5th Feburary, 2006, the Director, Fr. Miranda was honored for his contribution to the cause of mass literacy.
Christian Chamber of Commerce & Industry (CCCI) conferred on REAP its award for Excellence in Social service for empowering underprivileged through literacy. The award was conferred at CCCI's Annual Day on 30th Sept.2006.
REAP's work has been well recognized for its grass root approach, serious commitment, quality, systematic monitoring. REAP has been nominated by Kalyan Dombivili Municipal Corporation as the only Non Governmental Organisation (NGO) representative on its Committee for Alternative Education.
